Introduction
R is a programming language derived from
S-Plus.
It is a Matlab-like language, but it was initially oriented more towards statistics. However, recently,
many useful packages have been developed. The list would be to long to be cited but you may
have a look at it. R has also interesting
plotting functions. The one package I have to mention though
is
Bioconductor, which comprises everything needed not only for Microarray analysis,
but also for retrival, manipulation and analysis of biological data.
